“Princess/, Prostitutes, and Paupers” – Women of the Bible – “For Just Such a Time as This . . . “
    Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost

This week, Pastor Steve continues his teaching on women in the Bible, examining women from all walks of life and seeing how their action or inaction impacted salvation history! Last week we examined the adulteress Gomer, from the book of Hosea and saw the parallels between her life and the lives of God’s children in the northern kingdom of Israel. Now we shift gears and take a look at Esther, an orphaned girl who would become a queen and change the course of history.

“Princess’, Prostitutes, and Paupers” – Women of the Bible – “Love Never Fails”
    Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost

“Princess’, paupers, and prostitutes.” What do these things have in common? They describe but do not define women who were an integral part of biblical history. Rev. Steve Barrett begins a new sermon series detailing the lives of women found throughout Scripture. What traits do they share and what do we share in our own lives that help us understand how we might participate in the ongoing story of the Bible?

    Series: "Our Father"
    Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost
    Matthew 6:9-15

    “And forgive us our debts…”

It’s part of a prayer many of us pray all around the world; the Lord’s Prayer. A model of prayer taught to us by Jesus Christ, the Lord’s Prayer has lost much of its meaning in our hearts as we have memorized and consequently recited it over and over again. Pastor Steve Barrett concludes his sermon series on the Lord’s Prayer. The focus is on the final requests of the prayer dealing with forgiveness and the time of trial (or temptation). Have you prayed this prayer but not grasped its full meaning? Would you like some fresh insight into what Jesus meant when He taught it? We invite you to listen to or view the sermon.

    “Our Father . . . In Heaven”
    Series: "Our Father"
    Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost
    Matthew 6:9-13

Rev. Steve Barrett began a new sermon series titled, “Our Father”. This 4-week series will focus on what has commonly been referred to as “The Lord’s Prayer” as found in Matthew 6. What do we know about the prayer beyond what we have memorized? Is the version many of our churches recite every Sunday even accurate? What do some of the lines in the prayer mean? Is the prayer really meant for us? These questions and more will all be addressed over the next 4 weeks.
